Franco Jaggerman made it two for the day when he stormed home from well back in the next, I never had any doubts he would salute after a private trial with my stable star, Franco Nester. The big Falcon Seelster gelding scorched around Bankstown in 1.59, a time not often bettered in trackwork on the 800m circuit.

I have another Falcon Seelster 3yo that I am looking for partners.. his half brother won $150,000 and this bloke is faultless pacer with great potential. If you wait you will miss out; 5 shares are available at 3k each; I am retaining the other half share.

Delma Courage scores easily at Menangle

http://martyherbert.com:80//Default.aspx?pg=5740f94c-740d-4002-9b34-fb73de6f494c&detail=11605fd9-6ff3-4b88-a15d-4944fa0629f0#4fa41301-15bb-4a78-99af-7c762cdfe538

10/21/2008

Good runs from Delma and Extreme

http://martyherbert.com:80//Default.aspx?pg=5740f94c-740d-4002-9b34-fb73de6f494c&detail=49d60954-7950-4c58-982d-5e6997d6a8fa#4fa41301-15bb-4a78-99af-7c762cdfe538

10/12/2008
I was happy with both my entrants at Menangle last week, with Delma Courage and Franco Extreme taking 3rd place.
Delma had every chance, but using his blistering gate speed comes at a cost, and he just hung on for his placing - but it was strong field, with the winner bolting in again at his next appearance.
Extreme raced without cover first up and was game to end, going down a short neck each way in a good finish in a fast run last 800m (56.5, 27.1)

Emerger Scores Again

http://martyherbert.com:80//Default.aspx?pg=5740f94c-740d-4002-9b34-fb73de6f494c&detail=f74ca125-9251-4c52-88fb-0d86e1e04b34#4fa41301-15bb-4a78-99af-7c762cdfe538

10/12/2008
My talented 4yo Franco Emerger won his 4th race when successful at Bankstown 11/10/08.
Backed in to odds on, Josh was able to get the big gelding off the fence early and from then on I had no worries, as I feel this horse is bound for top company.
He will gain considerable benefit from the outing, as he went into the $8000 event without a trial under his belt - not that I like to trial my horses very often, I prefer to use the first class facilities here at Bankstown Paceway to top off my horses.

Website Update

http://martyherbert.com:80//Default.aspx?pg=5740f94c-740d-4002-9b34-fb73de6f494c&detail=7a68950a-7a92-4061-9337-8a60f4681d9c#4fa41301-15bb-4a78-99af-7c762cdfe538

10/8/2008
We are still in the process of building our new website so most our our images have yet to be downloaded. Heading the recruits is Line The Pocket, a regally bred colt by Champion USA shuttle Sire In The Pocket from Nightline. Given time to develop as a youngster, Line The pocket is progressing well and will be seen at the trials in the coming weeks.
Another top bred youngster is Franco Truman, a full brother to our former top class 3yo Franco Tinman, who has made his way to WA for new owners.
Franco Truman has trained down to 2.15 as a yearling and after a spell has arrived in reasonable condition from NZ. He will resume in a week and we will see if he can make the next step and be competitive as a 2yo.
He will join my other 2yo`s Dear Leader, a striking colt from my good mare Universal Alice and Black Ribbon, from Tainui. Both colts are by Armbro Oliver and move very nicely.
Last but not least is Harrisburg, a McArdle 2yo gelding from Pasadena Rose, a half sister to campion racemare Tupelo Rose.
My 3yo`s are Mach 3 gelding BG Three, a last start winner before spelling, and Line The Pocket.
In the 4yo brigade I have Franco Emerger, winner of his last two appearances, and Franco Jaggerman, a full brother to my former top 3yo Franco Jonquill.
Franco Nester heads the 5yo`s, which include Life Story, a good winner for the stable last season, and Delma Courage, winner of 5 races and runner up in 1.55.6.
Old timer Franco Extreme is the only other boarder and he is far from finished winning two of his last three starts, the latest in class record (1.57.5mr 2300m)
With plenty of talent waiting to be unleashed Herbert Harness Racing Stables is looking for a big season and invites new owners to share in the thrill of cheering home their winner.

Our Crown Law, bolted in at Bankstown

http://martyherbert.com:80//Default.aspx?pg=5740f94c-740d-4002-9b34-fb73de6f494c&detail=0f111192-bd80-41bb-8c05-50baa81a7772#4fa41301-15bb-4a78-99af-7c762cdfe538

8/9/2008
A very busy month this June with quite a few winners and placegetters, let`s start with the locals and one of my favourite horses, Life Story. This durable animal won his 6th race from his last 11 starts when he again sat without cover throughout and prevailed at his pet track, Newcastle Paceway recently. An incredibly strong beast he is and will one day show his true worth when I send him to the USA, where he will revel in the conditions on the big tracks. King Courage won twice in the month and justified the opinion Bruce Negus had in the Courage Under Fire gelding, and Franco Norseman scored for Dick and Jenny Caine at Harold Park capping off some good performances of late.

My best horse, Franco Nester, bolted in at HP and was runner up in the $25,000 final at Menangle 29/6/08, taking his earnings to over $90,000 and he is still an MO. In SA, Star General was responsible for a top effort when taking 2nd place in the Group One Trotters Derby, and at Moonee Valley bargain buy Gypsy Franco also placed 2nd at her first run in town. Another of my charges, Delma Courage was 2nd in 1.55.8, while Franco Tinman was placed in the Winter Cup at Newcastle.

A horse I consider to be Group material one day, and passed over by two so called buyers ( don`t ring me, I`ll call you; there`s plenty of NZ agents just dying to get their hands on you types) was Our Crown Law, which bolted in at Bankstown on debut with earplugs unpulled. This son of Bettors Delight had worked home on 58 seconds for trainer Ali Khouiss and landed a huge bet for lucky connections that took my advice and bought this beaut colt. In the USA, Flak Jacket took a career best 1.54.1, and his former stable mate Smokey Lonesome was also back in the winners circle in 1.56. At Freehold Paceway, Step Right won twice with the most recent in 1.53.1 and looks to improve on his already good Australian form.

I have decided not to list any more horses on my `For Sale` page, if anyone wants to inquire then call me direct or lodge an inquiry via the website.

July Stable Wrap

http://martyherbert.com:80//Default.aspx?pg=5740f94c-740d-4002-9b34-fb73de6f494c&detail=a78fc311-61e7-4a38-b1f5-43ba5aab3272#4fa41301-15bb-4a78-99af-7c762cdfe538

7/30/2008
A big month for Herbert Bloodstock and also Herbert Harness Racing Stables.

Our star boarder, Franco Nester gave me my first Carousel when successful at Bankstown defeating Dougs Place and Comet Prince.

Franco Extreme also broke through for his first win in a long time after a long run of placings, while Life Story won his 7th race for the stable and was an unlucky runner up twice.

I have unearthed another potential top liner in the Mach 3 gelding BG Three. The 2yo ran a strong 4th at debut then was too good in his 1.58.3 victory at Menangle before being put aside to develop.

A magnificent type in appearance and in demeanour, I believe this horse to be a future Derby contender.

Franco Tinman was runner up 3 times, twice in 1.55.5 but has failed to recapture his previous winning strike rate and is spelling for 6 weeks.

Franco Emerger showed brilliance on the training track but had some issues on raced ay that led to a couple of ordinary runs, but is on top now winning his last two starts, the last closing in 56.5.

The big gelding is now with Tinman for a good break.

Herbert Bloodstock welcomed a new client in Jarrod Alchin to the camp and the combination had immediate success when trotter Earldom bolted in at debut after being backed in to even money favourite.

Jarrod`s other purchase Ushakable was not so fortunate, breaking stride at Bankstown after being well supported.

Unshakable has since won a trial easily in 1.57 and has been eased up for next seasons racing.

Both horses were very well priced.

June 2008 Wrap Up

http://martyherbert.com:80//Default.aspx?pg=5740f94c-740d-4002-9b34-fb73de6f494c&detail=34a15ffd-9485-4770-b5ae-ec585b7ab72d#4fa41301-15bb-4a78-99af-7c762cdfe538

6/30/2008
Greetings World...
